    Solves your fermentation temperature woes!

Posted by Dustin L. on Jan 19th 2017

Hey All! I've been home brewing for 5 years now and always relied on the temperature of the house (65-70) degrees to hold temperatures steady enough through fermentation of Ales. When temps got higher during vigorous fermentation, I opted to used the old "swamp cooler" trick, but it was never a precise temperature control and it still wouldn't allow me to lager anything successfully. Also, I don't have the room for a temp controlled deep freezer or fridge just to use for a fermentation chamber.

Meet the Brew Jacket Immersion Pro! PRO, because it cools as well as heats! How cool? How about 35f above or below ambient room temp! It consists of a thermo-electric cooler (Peltier effect) with temperature control w/temp sensor, attached to an anodized cooling rod that is immersed in your fermentor in your wort/beer, a super thick insulation jacket to fit pretty much any 5 gallon fermentor or your choice and an accessories kit (pieces for blowoff tubing, stopper for the immersion rod. It comes standard for use with carboys(plastic) and standard fermenting buckets. Small modifications are needed to your fermentation vessels.

I brewed my first ever lager, a Munch Dunkel, this past weekend on my Grainfather and have nothing but the BEST things to say about my experience with the BREW JACKET (and the Grainfather!..see Grainfather review) It took less that 24 hours for the wort to reach my 50f degree lager fermentation temperature, and it holds it within .5 degrees! When the unit is within .5 degrees, the cooling fan on the unit shuts off until it triggers on. It does its job well as long as you thoroughly read the direction!!!

This is a great product for the price, simple to use, very efficient way of precise temperature control of your ales and lagers. Can't wait to report back after some more experiences! As always, Bill at Final Gravity will help you with any question your have.
